The Work We Take On

How We Price and Run a Job
We quote from plans where they exist and from a site walk where they don't. The quote states what's included, what's excluded and what we have assumed, because a quote that's vague about scope is a dispute waiting to happen.
Provisional sums and prime cost items get identified upfront. If your client hasn't selected fittings yet, we allow a sum and tell you what it is based on, rather than quoting low and adjusting later.
Variations get priced and confirmed before we do the work. If the client asks us for something extra while we're on site, we tell them it's a variation, we tell you, and nobody gets a surprise at invoice time. That protects you as much as it protects us.
Certificates of Compliance and test results come back promptly. If your client or the certifier needs documentation, you shouldn't have to chase us for it.
Working Alongside Other Trades
The rough-in stage is where most trade friction happens, because everyone needs the same wall cavity at the same time.
We coordinate with the plumber on wall penetrations and service routes rather than each drilling through the other's work. We set out to the cabinetmaker's drawings so appliance points and joinery lighting end up where the cabinetry actually is. We talk to the HVAC installer about duct routes before running cable through the space they need.
None of this is complicated. It just requires being willing to have a two-minute conversation on site rather than working in isolation and sorting it out afterwards with a hole saw.
What Drives the Price
We aren't going to publish a headline figure that turns into something else once we're on site. What we'll do is tell you exactly what moves the number, so you can see where your job is likely to sit before you call.
- Point count and circuit count from the plans
- Single or double storey, and slab versus suspended floor construction
- The specification level of fittings, lighting and switching
- Whether the switchboard is new or being upgraded from existing
- Site access, storey height and how much of the work is retrofit into existing structure
- Program requirements, including whether staged attendance is needed
Quotes are free, fixed, and state what's included and excluded. If we think something might turn up once we open things up, you hear about it before we start rather than on the invoice.
